Site analytics

Surviving Dad Life keeps basic visitor statistics on its own server, including page views, approximate daily visitor counts, and referring website names. We do not use Google Analytics, third-party analytics scripts, or analytics cookies.

To estimate daily visitors, the server combines the date, connection IP address, and browser information into a keyed hash. The analytics database stores this daily identifier, not the original IP address or browser information. It changes each day and is removed after two days. Live aggregate reports are kept for 90 days. Encrypted backups may retain older records until those backups expire. Estimates are not exact counts of people.

Analytics records page paths without search parameters and only the hostname of a referring website. It excludes known bots, admin pages, signed-in administrator visits, and browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.

Site features

Session and security cookies keep forms and sign-in working. A browser cookie remembers recipe ratings. Saved recipes stay in your browser’s local storage. Separate server logs may record requests and IP addresses to operate and protect the site.
